colonial zone walking tour

Private Tour, English-Speaking Guide, Time To Suit You

The Colonial Zone walking tour is the best way to see the Colonial Zone - most of it is pedestrianised and it's very hard to get around by car. The English-speaking guide will come to the hotel at a time to suit you - can be in the morning, afternoon or evening, and will take you around the main sights including the Plaza EspaƱa, Plaza Colon, the Calle de las Damas. You'll see the oldest street in the Americas, the Fortress, the Cathedral, the ruins of the Franciscan Monastery and many old buildings. The guide will point out some of the museums which are "must sees" and help you orientate yourself.

Don't worry if you're not into architecture or old buildings. You'll have a great chance to soak up the atmosphere, see the sights and sounds of the Colonial Zone and find your way around. The tour is completely flexible around you, so if you want to stop somewhere the guide will stop, you can spend as much or as little time as you want in each location. The complete tour takes around 3 hours. To book, just fill in the form below, you pay on arrival at the hotel.

The sister tour, Santo Domingo City Tour, covers the sights in other parts of the city. We recommend you do both tours if you have the time.
